Our Story
Bullsbrook Community Kindergarten offers an alternative to on-site state school based kindergartens.
Community kindergartens operate from purpose built facilities and playgrounds that are usually leased from local government. Teachers are appointed by the Department of Education and the kindergartens are managed by parent committees in co-operation with teachers and local community.
Children must turn four years of age by June 30 to start kindergarten at the beginning of that school year. Community kindergartens facilitate a smooth transition to formal schooling.
Enrolments for 2024 are full but we can put your child on a waiting list.
Please don't hesitate to put an Expression of Interest for 2025.

Mrs Williams, Teacher
Mrs Williams has been a teacher at BCK for 12 years, and has turned the Kindy into an amazing learning environment. She is a strong advocate for the importance of play based learning and hands on experiences to develop the whole child.
TOGETHER OUR TEACHING STAFF GO ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR EACH CHILD WHO ATTENDS THE KINDERGARTEN.

Frequently Asked Questions
ARE THE TEACHERS QUALIFIED ?
Yes! All CK teachers are employed by the Department of Education & Training (DET) & teach the same curriculum as in government run kindys.
DO CK'S COST MORE?
The voluntary contribution is the same as with government run kindys. You may be asked to contribute towards incursions and excursions.
CAN MY CHILD STILL GET INTO THE SCHOOL WE HAD PLANNED EVEN IF IT'S NOT LINKED?
Choosing a CK for your child will not affect your child's acceptance or non-acceptance to the government school you choose in any way. The kindy your child attends is not a consideration when the school processes your application for pre-primary. You have the choice!
DO I HAVE TO DO MORE WORK AT A CK IF MY CHILD GOES THERE?
Recent research illustrates that children who have parents actively involved and supportive in their early education have all around better outcomes as they grow. It is not compulsory to participate in the running of the CK, but the CK concept relies on strong parental support (which can be in many ways and on many levels - it's all up to you and what you want to make of it for the benefit of your child). A committee comprising a parent body is required for the Kindy to operate.
