Our Early Childhood Program
At Bullsbrook Community Kindergarten, play is at the heart of how children learn.
Our program is strongly play-based, giving children plenty of opportunities to explore, create, imagine, investigate and learn through hands-on experiences. We believe children learn best when they feel happy, safe, curious and engaged in what they are doing.
While our days involve lots of play, there is also plenty of intentional learning happening along the way. Our educators plan experiences and learning environments that build on children's interests, strengths and individual needs.
Our program follows the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Western Australian Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines, supporting children's learning across identity, connection and contribution, wellbeing, learning and communication.

Offer
Learning through play
Play allows children to make choices, test ideas, solve problems, use their imagination and make sense of the world around them.
Through both child-led play and intentional teaching, educators encourage children to ask questions, try new things, build friendships and develop confidence and independence.
Whether children are building, painting, creating, exploring outdoors or engaging in imaginative play, these everyday experiences provide valuable opportunities for learning and development.
Supporting the whole child
Our program supports children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive, language and creative development.
Children are encouraged to build positive relationships, communicate their ideas and feelings, develop independence, explore their creativity and become increasingly confident in themselves and their abilities.
We recognise that every child develops at their own pace and brings their own interests, strengths and experiences to Kindy.
Literacy and numeracy
Early literacy and numeracy are naturally incorporated throughout our daily program rather than being limited to formal lessons.
Children develop early literacy skills through stories, songs, rhymes, conversations, drawing, name recognition, letter and sound awareness and early writing experiences.
Numeracy is explored through counting, numbers, patterns, shapes, sorting, measurement, positional language and problem-solving during play and everyday activities.
Preparing for school
Kindergarten provides an important foundation for children's transition to full-time school.
Throughout the year, children become familiar with routines, develop friendships, practise managing their belongings, strengthen their communication and problem-solving skills and become increasingly independent.
Our aim is for children to leave Kindy feeling confident, capable and excited about learning, while still having plenty of opportunity to play, explore and enjoy being 3, 4 or 5.
